Overcoming Hypocrisy: The Power of Being Sincere

The Ultimate Virtue Needed – Sincerity

Have you ever felt like a hypocrite in your walk with God? That feeling of living a fake life, where your beliefs and actions do no align. Those times your words and actions do not align – where your declarations is different from your manifestations.

You are not alone dear, I have been there not once but many times. You are not alone. This may not sound good for some religious folks but this is what many Christians need. They want to know that they are not alone in their struggles. This is because many struggle in secret but they can’t open up because everyone seems to be doing well whereas they fail many times. Listen the temptations you pass through is the same everywhere. What you need is encouragement and the ultimate solution.

Today what I have for you is encouragement, another day I will proffer solutions. I want to share with you what I have learnt so far. I once listened to a message by Apostle Arome Ossai where he talked about the virtue of sincerity. Since then that message is stuck in my mind. He posited that once we lose our virtue of sincerity, we lose our walk with God. The virtue of sincerity means being sincere with God in all you do. Don’t be fake, don’t be vague, don’t be dishonest, don’t try to apply wisdom. Just be plain and sincere. God only helps those who are sincere not the proud and arrogant.

Any time you derail from the path of Christ, do not give excuses, do not beat around the bush. Rather come to God in sincerity. Tell him what you did and why you did what you did. For example “Father I have sinned, I have committed fornication. I committed fornication because I was not watchful, I played around sin until it overpowered me. This is you being open and sincere with God which opens up the door of mercy and grace for you. There are times I come to God in prayer and I tell him how I feel. I tell him Lord I am weak of which if you don’t help me I will fall. I tell him I am drawn to a particular sin or I am loving a particular sin because my spirit is weak. Sometimes I tell him “Lord is like I love sin more than I love you or more than I love righteousness. I speak up, I speak out. In those moments I receive help that I need.

I encourage you dear,to be truthful and sincere with him. He helps the humble. Download that message from Apostle and learn more.
I want to hear from you dear, have you ever felt the way I felt in those moments and how did you handle it?
